Solo exhibition with the title of “Land” , April and May 2024 ,Bostan Art Gallery.
In this project I am studying Land forms and landscape conception. I sketch and make models in different scales to recreate a small landscape. Land stillness and stability and the long life it has in the world give it such value that I decide to study to find an artistic way to show my ideas about it. Landscape has an old story for me as I was always fascinated in sky lines and I used to follow the land ups and downs on the roads. Studying Environmental Design and different courses on Landscape, I clearly know that the Earth has become only a base for building our cities and roads which is very sad. To recognize and analyze the process of changing the surface of the earth during the time may be a way to preserve this main resource from the indiscriminate destruction and erosion. Nature repeats its patterns on its various surfaces so I used horizontal cuts of wood to represent the horizon line in the distance. I work on the surface, paper and wood and may test other natural materials. The surface of the earth consist of the surfaces of the lands, deserts, seas, rocks and mountains is defined by maps, aerial photos and landscape photos. I survey many of them to simplify landscape to its basic visual components; points and lines of topography regardless of the vegetation and manmade objects led me to a pure morphology of the earth. The continuous landscapes images create the overall unity that we know as landscape and is only possible by recognizing land forms in detail. I also plan to test different materials we use in cities on the surface of my artworks to remind the presence of human on the surface of the land. Land was here from the very beginning and will remain to the end and human civilization leave only a trace on its surface. this idea will be shown as a metal frame, glass surface, plaster lines, cement dots, bitumen surfaces spots or textures which all are pulled down in the ground as new components in the future look of Land.
