Mohammad Hossein Emad (b. 1957, Arak, Iran) is among Iran’s leading sculptors and is known for his poetic and abstract mode of existence. His works are marked by raw surfaces and minimalist forms that invite physical and emotional engagement from the viewers. Emad emphasizes interaction, informing people to walk around, hear, and be near the work. He explores duality in the form of light and darkness, full and empty, and solid and void, reflecting nature’s cyclical antitheses.
Material choice and spatial composition are central to his visual lexicon. Emad’s pieces are exhibited internationally and are installed in public settings across Iran. He continues to live and work in Tehran.
