Masoumeh Mozaffari (born 1958, Tehran) is an Iranian figurative painter and university Lecturer. She has a BFA from the University of Tehran and an MFA from the Islamic Azad University. Her realist paintings portray everyday faces, her portraits often look cold and neutral, charged with understated tension. Objects in her paintings float or fall, and she occasionally adds Cubist influences. Mozaffari uses acrylic, oil, pencil, and pen in her work. She has been an art instructor for decades and has taught many students. She served as chairperson of the Iranian Painters Association from 2013 to 2018 and as a member of the Iranian Artists Forum’s High Council from 2005. She has judged art festivals, given public lectures, and published writings on art. Her paintings have been shown in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Iran.
