Haleh Motevally (b. 1986, Tehran, Iran) is a sculptor exploring land as a long-term artistic study. Her project “Land” observes patterns and reconstructs landscape through horizontal wood cuts, simplifying landscapes to their core visual elements—points and lines— omitting vegetation and human-made structures to reveal land morphology. Recently, she has been investigating the impact of cities and roads on land surfaces over time, incorporating new materials to represent human traces.
