Zanbagh Lotfi (b. 1976, Tehran, Iran) is an artist influenced by the rhythm of mobility and the events unfolding around her. She is in a constant state of transition, moving from one place to another. In her paintings, she views herself as an observer or witness, beholding the events and transformations within and around her. Her artistic pursuit focuses on understanding and rediscovering the relationship between the “Self” and the surrounding world. Throughout this journey, she encounters diverse places and times, leading to the emergence of liminal spaces. Organizing these spaces in her paintings poses a significant challenge. In this collection, she offers visitors a glimpse into this endeavor, reflecting her observations over a specific period. These observations are recorded as small work-notes, culminating in a larger piece that presents a polyphonic manifestation of her insights. The need for paintings to be accompanied by an installation aligns with her personal inclination to seek out seemingly insignificant signs that, through exploration and selection, may acquire renewed significance.
